It is always safest to order a backdrop that is too large rather than too small, as it is much easier to crop an image than try to digitally extend the background.
For overhead newborn photos we recommend no smaller than 5x5ft.
For cake smash and toddler photos we suggest at least 5x5ft for floor and 5x5ft for wall, or a 5x10ft all in one size.
For product and food photography, we suggest 2x2ft for small items like jewellery, and 3x3ft is usually sufficient for most other items like cakes, handbags, etc.
If you are unsure about which size you need, we recommend grabbing a tape measure and marking out a space on the floor or on a bed sheet so that you can visualise the size and see what you can fit in that space.
Please note that all backdrop sizes shown on this website are displayed as "width x height" so please ensure you select the appropriate size for your needs.
Keep in mind that depending on the size you select on the product page, some cropping or stretching of the image may occur in order to reach your preferred dimensions. If you would like to confirm if this affects your design, just drop us a line on the Contact Us page - we are happy to help!
With most of our designs, especially wood and patterns, we can print them smaller or larger depending on your preference. If no preference is stated it will be printed as per the display image.
We recommend hanging your backdrop using clamps (available in the Accessories category) or we can add a Pole Pocket to your backdrop for a small additional charge. Pole Pockets allow you to slide your backdrop onto a backdrop stand and do not require the use of clamps.
